Santa Barbara County, USA
This wine is a blend of 100% Pinot Noir from multiple Santa Barbara County Vineyards. A significant portion of this wine comes from the Pali estate vineyard in the Sta Rita Hills, with the balance coming from vineyards in the Santa Maria Valley and Los Alamos areas. This wine is barrel aged for about 10 months using approx 25% new French Oak. Bottled (mostly) Summer 2017.
Brilliant deep red/garnet color. Nose shows fresh cherries, strawberry, baking spices, toasted oak and hints of bacon fat. The palate gives up dark red fruit flavors, earthy mushrooms and loads of spices finishing with warm notes of vanilla and coffee. Silky texture on a medium-weighted palate with perfumed flavors that permeate up to the nose. Lively, visceral and brooding.
